Summer Prep - Call Dana Carlson to get it done!!!

Oh please summer gods! Are you staying with us? As native New Englanders and lifetime Rhode Islanders, Dana Carlson Enterprises is not surprised by our current lack of spring and possible vaulting right into summer.

So besides dusting off the shorts and flip flops, what can you, as a homeowner do to get ready for this season of sun and fun? Why, spruce up the house and yard. Now wait a minute - I can hear the moans from here. Yes, they are audible. Okay - so if you would rather be hitting the beach or dipping your toes in the lake, then who will get your property ready for the warmer weather? Why us of course!

Some really simple steps that make a big difference now and later:

  • Clean those gutters! All the gunk and debris that has been piling up in your gutters is serious bad news for your house, yard and basement. If the water is not flowing through the gutters properly, it can be collecting in large puddles, seeping into your house or flooding your basement.
  • Caulk the exterior! Sealing the exterior of your house not only contributes to lowering your energy bills, but protects your investment from those pesky natural elements. Exterior caulking should be done once a year in order to keep everything tight.
  • Clean and seal your deck! "Whoa" you say as you walk out onto your mold infested summer lounge spot? Yes, the winter and wet spring have turned your deck into some shade of Kermit the Frog. The very first thing is to power wash that sucker. And we don't mean dousing it gently with the nearest garden hose - only a true power washer will get your deck gleaming. Once it sparkles, seal that sucker! Sealing will keep your deck protected during the abuse of the summer months, but also into the winter when the snow piles up on it (sigh...horrible thought).
Really don't want to spend your summer doing this? Home remodeling contractors, Dana Carlson Enterprises, is who you should call to take care of all your summer prep! 401-938-3828.
